Christmas Past
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas". For Christmas, did all of your dreams come true? Over the past several years, have you wondered if Jesus required a birthday gift on His day that the world has set to celebrate his birth? Oh, not that He lacks anything as the entire cosmos belongs to Him. But for a few minutes considering what Christ probably desired in "Christmas Past".
Do you know what adoration and expectation were shown on the night of his birth? and of course not the version of t'was the night before Christmas and all through the house..... though it's a beautiful gesture. God that night designed a vast bright star in honor of his Son, with choruses by a multitude of angles and the first guest of meager shepherds to see the face of God. Later wise men visited and celebrated His birth with monumental gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The wise men were knowledgeable of Christ's birth by studying the writings of Daniel. Truthfully, the wise men were sensible as they were astrologers not believers in the Savior. The wise men dared the elements of travel by the star to discover if indeed a child was born to be the King of the Jews.
And Joseph and Mary in the years celebrating His birth, what did they give him? What can one offer Jesus as He has everything or does he? Jesus came into this world to deliver the love of the Father because Jesus is love. Love was demonstrated in action on the Cross as sin had separated us from the love of God. We have access to the kingdom and direct access that we can call on the name of Jesus at any given time. Individuals, people, world, hello there is no waiting time He hears when we call!
Jesus desires our love, and love that is freely given. And if we love him we will obey his commandments. Legalism, no not in the least. The Cross was that legalism for Christ to experience that type of death. Is it legalism to celebrate Christmas? One does so out of love. Is that not correct? Wise men/women as some say still love to seek Jesus!!!!!!!!
Referring to Christmas Past, we have not all celebrated Christ's birth in methods that were pleasing to him being honest it had nothing to do with him but with our carnal pleasures and desires. That was when we were childish, but as we truly love him we put away those childish behaviors and grew into wise men/women. In Christmas Past, there were perhaps no gifts for Christ beneath the tree, no cookies or milk on the table. There were good deeds done in His name, gifts for the homeless, the least fortunate, and more.
Yes, this Christmas has passed however there is the time each day to give Christ the gift of your love and devotion to not only Jesus but love others as he has loved you. What a wonderful world this can be. Some people are hard to love that's why we need Christ to give us all the help we need via the Holy Spirit. Jesus did not leave us without a Helper. That was and is a precious gift that Christ gives to every believer. We all need assistance in this world whether one believes it or not.
Placed under the tree at Calvery, the Cross, accessible gifts of forgiven sin (taken out of the world darkness into the light of truth), the undeniable love, grace, mercy, faithfulness and becoming son's and daughters of the King of the universe. These are only a few of the magnificent gifts plus the invitation to have eternal life! The Giver of the gifts did not have the packages displayed in full view or a bow and wrapping paper on the blood stained gift. However, we all should reread that incident of the Cross in the gospels to refresh our remembrance and focus on the Giver and what it cost to purchase our gifts. s

In the forecast, there is a high expectation of a special white Christmas that will occur soon. I dream of a white Christmas being surrounded by clouds of thousands and thousands of angels and saints dressed in robes of righteousness as the sleeping saints (the dead) with the saints that are alive will gather with the Gift Giver in the sky and we will forever be with the Lord!!!!!! The Lord of Glory; the Lord Our Righteousness. Prepare to seek Him with all of your heart, mind and strength to receive the most dynamic and divine gift of all Christmas' Past. Yes, come and go with me, with us to a better place to a Father, Elder Brother and a Helper the Holy Spirit.
Watch, pray and be prepared for the greatest White Christmas of all time.
God's abundant love and blessings!!!!!!!
